As a girl dad, much of the why in the things I do is inexorably tied to my love for my daughters and a desire to see the world they grow up in be brighter and better. I am late to the inclusivity table, but I am dedicated to listening, learning, and growing my understanding. With hope and a little luck, perhaps doing the work for myself will make room for others in our community, including my girls.

My wife is the most clever and compassionate human I’ve ever known. She gives of herself until it hurts, then checks to see how everyone else is doing. Early on in our marriage, I learned that I could either run beside her or make a meal of the dust billowing in her wake. Frequently, I find the greatest kindling of my fire comes from the authentic way she lives every day.

In my free time, I am incredibly fond of folding paper. I tore through the works of Akira Yoshizawa several years ago and have since folded more and more complex models, with my origami diagram collection growing every year. If anyone ever wants to talk about origami, I am here for it.
